Welcome to Taiwan!
Respectable AOFOG Council Members, Fellows, distinguished lectures, dear delegates, friends and colleagues : welcome to Taiwan, to attend the 2004 AOFOG Council Meeting and the International Symposium for Advanced Obstetrics and Gynecology , hosted by the TAIWAN Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology (TAOG) , here in Taiwan.
It is really our honor and great pleasure to be able to host this important events.
TAOG was established in 1961, was one of the founding members of AOFOG, and also the member country of FIGO since 1964, conducted by Professor Chien-Tien Hsu.
For the first time, Taiwan had hosted the Post-Congress Symposium on “Cervical Cancer and Infertility “ following the IX AOCOG meeting (Korea) in 1983, at this Grand Hotel. Then the XII AOCOG meeting was held in Taiwan in December 1989, at the newly built “International Congress Center”, where about 1500 gynecologists from abroad and local had attended.
And this is the third time , Taiwan has the honor to host the 2004 AOFOG Council Meeting and the International Symposium for Advanced Obstetrics and Gynecology.
I would like to thank AOFOG Council once again, for having given Taiwan to host this wonderful occasions, and also acknowledge to the invited excellent lectures from the Asian & Oceania Countries, Italy and USA.
I do hope , all of you will appreciate the Academic Programs during the Conference, and also expecting all guests and participants can attend and enjoy the social activities and sharing with you the tradition of culture and beautiful sceneries of this country ; called “Ilha Formosa”.

It's been over 20 years since Taiwan last hosted the Council Meeting of AOFOG. TAOG treasures the opportunity given by AOFOG. It is my privilege and honor to lead the Organizing Committee. I am happy to see old friends again from overseas and I appreciate very much the help from the Secretariat of AOFOG, sponsors and my colleagues in Taiwan to ensure the meetings are held smoothly and successfully.
Together with the Council Meeting, the International Symposium for Advanced Obstetrics and Gynecology 2004 is one of the most important international symposiums on Obstetrics and Gynecology in the recent years. We are happy and honored to have you to be part of it, whether lecturing, attending meetings or simply just being here.
